Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is a holistic treatment using natural plant substances called essential oils, which have the ability to work on the body, mind and emotions to assist the body in its own healing. The oils may be used in a variety of ways: as compresses, inhalations, in baths and burners etc. However, the most commonly used method is in the form of a massage, which provides a very powerful therapy. Each of the essential oils has specific properties and these are blended to individual requirements in order to balance the body, both physically and mentally.

It is not necessary to be ill to benefit from aromatherapy and regular treatment will help to keep the body healthy and give you a sense of well-being and control.

Herbal Medicine

Medical herbalists are trained in the same diagnostic skills as orthodox doctors but they use natural plant remedies to treat disease. The underlying cause of the problem is sought, and once identified it is this that is treated, rather than the symptoms alone. The remedies, which are usually in tincture form, consist of a combination of approximately 10 different herbs and are aimed at restoring the balance of the body, thus enabling it to mobilise its own healing powers.

Holistic Iridology

You may have heard the phrase, “The eyes are the mirror of the soul” - well, your irises are a living book about your body!

Iridologists can look at your irises and tell you what’s going on in your body, what’s happened to it in the past....and what your body is likely to become.

Basically your eyes tell me how you’re reacting to your physical environment, lifestyle and emotional issues. I pass on to you what I can see, and then help you make informed decisions about how you can achieve optimum health, personal growth, fulfilment and freedom.

Massage

Massage is one of the earliest natural therapies. It uses various forms of stroking and pressure in order to soothe and/or stimulate the body’s systems. Massage can be very deep tissue manipulation or a gentle soothing movement depending on your individual requirements. The benefits of massage can be felt on both a physical and emotional level.

It is not necessary to be ill to benefit from massage. Regular treatment can help strengthen the immune system and prevent ill-health by keeping the body balanced and stress levels under control.

Psychotherapy

This is the art and science of resolving psychological problems using talking. It can help you to take control of your life and tap into one of the most powerful allies you have, your unconscious mind. This will enable you to not only find out ‘why’ things happen in the way they do, but more importantly, address how you can take the action that will create change. Often people know what they ‘should do’ to create change but feel blocked from doing it. Interacting with a therapist can in most cases shift those blocks to successful living.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a form of massage which involves applying pressure to certain reflex areas of the feet and sometimes the hands. By stimulating these reflexes the whole body is worked. Using specific massage techniques the reflexologist can tell which areas are out of balance and treatment is then given to correct the imbalances in order to restore good health.

Everyone can benefit from reflexology to maintain good health and prevent the imbalances which cause illness.

Shiatsu-Do

Shiatsu-Do, Tai Chi and Yoga share the view that bodily function is governed by the flow of vital energy called Chi or Prana. Working with the meridians of Chi Energy the Shiatsu-Do practitioner uses a variety of stretching, rocking, manipulative and pressure techniques. Through the medium of touch, the experienced practitioner is able to activate the innate self healing mechanism within the individual, resulting in a heightened sense of well-being in body, mind and spirit.

Stress Management

Stress affects everyone and up to a point it can actually help performance. But beyond this point, many people find their normal ways of coping are no longer enough to deal with the additional demands of today’s world. Long term stress is harmful to the body (it affects the immune system) and can lead to illness. Just a few sessions can help identify the cause of stress and focus on helping the client put more effective stress management techniques into practice.

Sessions are tailored to each individual and may include specific stress techniques, training in relaxation, looking at lifestyle factors and working through the underlying cause of stress.
